Inaugural 26.2 Meter Micro-Marathon coming to Katy
In the world of a “micro-marathon,” it is not necessarily about the distance ran but who benefits in the end.
The inaugural Fostering Success Foundation’s 26.2 Meter Micro-Marathon will benefit youths who are aging out of foster care.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at No Label Brewing Co., 5351 First St. in Katy.
“We’re going to run about 86 feet then drink some ice-cold beer courtesy of No Label Brewing Co.,” organizers said in a news release. A $25 donation “gets you in the race, a cool T-shirt and a customized pint glass to drink your two free beers.”
Also part of the event, organizers will collect “youth-aged school supplies and you can join the event with a $25 or more value school supply donation that will go directly into the hands of high school and college-aged foster youth in our area.”
