A Johnstown man was sentenced in federal court to 46 months in prison and three years’ supervised release for unlawfully possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, according to United States Attorney Scott Brady.

U.S. District Judge Kim Gibson imposed the sentence on Anthony Rodney Edwards, 31, of Wilson Street.

On March 15 Edwards was found in possession of a loaded .38-caliber pistol. On March 31, 2017, he was convicted in Cambria County of firearms not to be carried without a license, a crime punishable by more than a year in prison. Federal law prohibits people who have been convicted of a crime punishable by more than a year in prison from possessing firearms.
