W&J student accused of stalking

A Washington & Jefferson College student was charged with stalking another student Thursday by campus police.Joshua D. Herrod, 25, of 125 Murray Ave., Washington, is accused of spray-painting two residence halls in March and posting fliers on campus questioning a female student’s gender. The fliers allegedly showed the woman’s face and said “lost dog reward.“Herrod also is accused of posting messages through the woman’s Twitter account, declaring “proud to be transgender.” Campus police said an investigation revealed the message was posted from a cable internet account belonging to Herrod’s father.Herrod allegedly told investigators during an interview April 11 that he was friends with the woman and she declined to date him. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
