STRATFORD — Alex Heinen hit three home runs and had 10 RBIs, as the Stratford Brakettes swept a doubleheader from Team Connecticut Saturday night, winning each game 10-0 in seven and five innings, respectively.

Heinen singled and hit a grand slam in the opening game and drove in six runs in the second game on a three-run home run, a two-run home run and a RBI-single.

Ali Dubois (3-0) earned the win on the mound in the first game, striking out 10 in a three-hitter. Lauren Pitney, of Ansonia, hit a two-run home run and Samantha Rodriguez and Val Suto each had two hits for the Brakettes (10-1).

In the second game, Brandice Balschmiter (3-1) struck out 12 in a one-hitter, allowing only a single by Team Connecticut’s Ashley Eisner in the fifth inning.

Denise Denis and Abby Abramson each had two hits in the nightcap.

Stratford plays next on Thursday night in a doubleheader against the Connecticut Eliminators 23U squad, beginning at 7 at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field.
