SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Padres optioned right-hander Walker Lockett to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday, a night after he made his big league debut, and recalled left-hander Jose Castillo.

Castillo was acquired along with Wil Myers from Tampa Bay in a three-team, 11-player trade on Dec. 18, 2014. His first appearance will be his big league debut. He will become the ninth Padres player — and seventh pitcher — to debut this season.

Lockett had control problems in a 7-2 loss to Cincinnati on Friday night, walking five in 3 2/3 innings while allowing four runs and four hits.
