June 24, 2018 GMT

U.S. 36 is closed in both directions between St. Vrain Road and Nelson Road because of a three-vehicle crash that has left at least one person hospitalized.

Colorado State Patrol Cpl. Ivan Alvarado said that the crash was reported shortly after 6 p.m.

Alvarado said that one woman was taken to Boulder Community Health Foothills Hospital. The state patrol’s vehicular crimes unit has been dispatched to the scene.

A Boulder County sheriff’s deputy could be seen placing road flares near Nelson Road and U.S. 36 and direction traffic away. A firetruck was blocking the road.

This is a developing story and more details will be released as they become available.
