August 31, 2017

More than 23,994 people attended the 46th Swiss Wine Festival August 24-27 at the Riverfront Park in Vevay, setting a new attendance record beating the previous 2013 record by 1,524 people. Attendance was down slightly on Thursday but increased on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Kirk Works, president of the festival said good weather and The Charlie Daniels Band were the reasons for the new attendance record. “We had numerous people who traveled a long distance to attend the festival,” Works said. “We would like to thank all those who helped in any way to make this year’s festival another one to remember. “We hope to continue to be one of the Top 10 Festival in Indiana. However, “we know it will hard to top The Charlie Daniels Band ” Works said. Follow up and planning meetings are already underway for the next year’s festival. The 47th Swiss Wine Festival will be held on Aug. 23-26, 2018.
