TRUMBULL-A break into the Stern Village Community Center led to the arrest of a Hedgehog Circle man.

Police charged Todd Nichols, 42, with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was to appear in the Golden Hill Street courthouse.

Nichols already has a pending case there. He was charged with third-degree criminal trespass stemming from a March 9 incident and second-degree failure to appear resulting from his non appearance in court on May 10. He is to appear in court Sept. 26 on those charges.

The latest case involves a Sept. 6 incident after lock and hinges were broken allowing entry into the center. Nothing was reported stolen, according to police.

Police said Nichols, who lives within the complex was seen inside the center after hours by a resident. The resident contacted a security office who saw Nichols leaving the center after 9 p.m. The center closes at 8 p.m.

Nichols denied being near the building, police said.
