Man charged with fondling himself at city Splash Pad
BRIDGEPORT - A Stratford machinist was arrested after police said he was spotted fondling himself outside the Splash Pad at Seaside Park.
Manuel Morales, 68, was charged with public indecency and second-degree breach of peace.
During his arraignment Friday afternoon Morales, who works at a Stratford machine shop, was released on a promise to appear in court but ordered by Superior Court Judge William Holden to stay away from Seaside Park.
Police said on Thursday officers were called to Seaside Park for a suspicious man in a pickup truck.
A local woman told officers she had been bring her children to the Splash Pad the past three days and noticed the same pickup truck parked nearby with a man inside, police said.
When the woman approached the truck, police said she saw the driver, later identified as Morales, in the midst of intently watching the children at the Splash Pad while fondling himself on top of a newspaper.
