Actor Michael Douglas’ son freed from prison

Seven years in prison have ended for the eldest son of Academy Award winning actor Michael Douglas.

Cameron Douglas was released from prison after serving time for possession of heroin and selling methamphetiamine, ABC News reported.

Douglas, 37, had been sentenced to five years but got a longer sentence after he admitted smuggling drugs into prison.

He spent n early two years of his sentence in solitary confinement.

“Cameron has been a chronic substance abuser,” Michael Douglas told New York magazine in 2013. “He was kicked out of school for dealing pot when he was 13, and that’s when I became aware of his problems.” Cameron ultimately became addicted to heroin, sold crystal meth and got caught in a Drug Enforcement Administration sting.
