ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after a dead man was found in a car along Interstate 95 in South Carolina.

News outlets report the South Carolina Highway Patrol discovered the body Sunday along the busy interstate highway in Orangeburg County while responding to a call of a motorist needing assistance.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office said Monday that the dead man was identified as 64-year-old John Keller of Virginia. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday to determine the cause of death.

Orangeburg County sheriff’s spokesman Richard Walker said Keller’s death was being investigated as suspicious because authorities did not yet know how he died.
