Columbia Sportswear: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Columbia Sportswear Co. (COLM) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $119.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Portland, Oregon-based company said it had profit of $1.75.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.55 per share.

The maker of outdoor gear posted revenue of $906.8 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $886.8 million.

Columbia Sportswear expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.70 to $4.80 per share, with revenue in the range of $3.01 billion to $3.04 billion.

Columbia Sportswear shares have climbed 11% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $93.39, a rise of slightly more than 1% in the last 12 months.
