PITTSBURGH (AP) — Officials say four undercover detectives involved in a Pittsburgh bar fight last fall with members of a biker gang will remain on the force but will be reassigned to other positions.

Mayor Bill Peduto and Public Safety Director Wendell Hissrich said new guidelines have been implemented for undercover work and the division is getting additional supervisors.

No details about the new guidelines were provided in Tuesday’s announcement, which came nine months after the officers got into a brawl with members of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club on Oct. 12 at Kopy’s Bar in the city’s South Side neighborhood.

Officials noted that three independent investigations resulted in no criminal charges against the detectives. Four of the Pagans have filed suit against the city, alleging that their civil rights were violated.
