ROBBERY: Two men were arrested in connection with an unarmed robbery Sunday afternoon at Walmart in Huntington after they ran from police and hid in a nearby apartment.
Valandale Jerome “Bam Bam” Herron, 19, of Huntington is charged with being a fugitive from justice, burglary, unarmed robbery and fleeing. Kelly Arshawn Davis, 20, is charged with being an accessory, burglary, assault during the commission of a felony, and fleeing.
Cabell County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Walmart on a robbery call about 3 p.m. Sunday and spotted two men matching the suspect descriptions walking behind the store on nearby Norway Avenue. The two then fled on foot before entering a unit at nearby Rotary Gardens Apartments.
As police surrounded the complex, a 20-year-old woman emerged from the unit and told officers the suspects were not inside, reports state. The property manager gave police permission to enter the unit, where Herron was found hiding in a kitchen cabinet, and Davis was found in a closet.
Both men are currently lodged at Western Regional Jail. The woman was arrested on misdemeanor obstruction charges for lying to police, though she is not listed as an inmate at the jail.
