Police from 3 states search for more clues in girl’s death
YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — Authorities have conducted an additional search of the area where the remains of 10-year-old Lindsey Baum were found last year.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reports that melted snow allowed for the area in Kittitas County to be searched again on Saturday.
Personnel from Washington, Idaho and as far as Montana assisted in the search about 20 miles (32 kilometers) west of Ellensburg. Authorities last week identified the remains that hunters found last year as that of Lindsay, who had been missing since 2009.
She vanished from her hometown of McCleary, which is about 20 miles west of Olympia. She was last seen the night of June 26, 2009, when she left a friend’s home. She was going to walk the four blocks to her house but never arrived.
