Lowell (8-8) remained hot, defeating its rival on the road in a MVC thriller for the Red Raiders’ fourth straight win.
Micheala Martinez and Athena Mowatt had 8 points each. Kian Pronh scored 10 points, including a huge 3-pointer with a minute left that proved to be the difference.
Despite a strong effort from senior forward Jessica Gooch, the Middies dropped the MVC encounter on the road.
Gooch collected 14 points.

Newton South hung on to top Westford Academy in a DCL game.
Brooke Pillsbury paced the Grey Ghost attack with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Carolyn Graham (9 points) and Morgan Rose (8 points) played well for Westford (10-4, 4-2 DCL Large).
Junior Bryonwyn Mulligan had a huge night with 22 points and 10 rebounds, lifting the Crusaders to the non-league home win.
Senior Hannah Wynn tallied 10 points, 10 points and 5 rebounds for Groton-Dunstable (10-4), which also received a fine game from junior Jillian Van Pelt, who had 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.
The Wildcats qualified for the state tournament in thrilling fashion by ending Middlesex League rival Wakefield.
Junior guard Jenna Tavanese was outstanding in a 27-point effort. Sophomore guard Kylie DuCharme poured in 13 points and hauled down 10 rebounds.
