Celebrate the season with the annual WPXI Holiday Parade

November 22, 2017

From the music to the floats to the marching bands, on up to the arrival of Santa Claus, holiday parades put their viewers in a festive mood.

The WPXI Holiday Parade is back for the 37th year, beginning at 9 a.m. Nov. 25.

The parade will be televised live on WPXI-TV and streamed live on wpxi.com. It is the only local televised parade in Pittsburgh.

Each year, the parade features colorful floats, marching bands, specialty units, balloons, Santa Claus, as well as national and local celebrities. Past guests have included Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler, Christina Aguilera, Usher, Jackie Evancho and Joe Manganiello.

Chris Jamison, Ross resident and third place winner on the 2014 season of NBC’s “The Voice,” will participate in this year’s parade.

The parade route proceeds down Liberty Avenue from 11th to Sixth streets.
