American Fork man arrested for reportedly grooming, sexually abusing teenager
An American Fork man was arrested Tuesday evening for reportedly grooming and sexually abusing a teenage girl when he lived in Eagle Mountain, police reports state.
Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathan Storrs, 41, on suspicion of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, sexual exploitation of a minor, forcible sodomy, and enticing, soliciting, seducing or luring a minor by Internet or text.
The teenager told police she was 13 years old when Storrs started reportedly offering her clothes and money to work for him. The teenager believed her family was in a tight financial situation so she initially accepted the gifts, police reported.
Storrs reportedly asked the teenager to send him sexually explicit photos of herself, and he started sending explicit photos of himself to her, according to police documents.
He also touched her inappropriately on several occasions and wrote in a journal about “how infatuated he was with her,” police reported.
On one occasion, the teenager went to Storrs’ house and he gave her vodka before sexually abusing her.
Police documents stated Storrs reportedly continued to send explicit text messages to the teenager until she was 15, offering to send hundreds of dollars into her bank account in return for sexual favors.
Storrs has a criminal history of selling drugs and alcohol to minors, according to police. He was arrested in 2016 for giving brownies baked with marijuana and a bottle of vodka to two minors, according to court documents.
He is being held on $50,000 cash-only bail at the Utah County Jail.
