City Clerk releases audio of meeting with Mayor Henry
Fort Wayne city clerk Lana Keesling on Wednesday released audio of a meeting she had last week with Mayor Tom Henry that she says is proof of retaliation for a parking ticket the mail received.
“The Mayor’s response to the parking ticket was that this was a ‘disagreement’ about a parking space. There is a far bigger picture here that an elected official was bullied and retaliated against for doing the job she was elected to do,” Keesling said in a statement. “The Mayor stated Citizens Square is his building and he can do whatever he wants.”
The city-owned car Henry was driving was ticketed by parking enforcement on Feb. 6, following news reports that the mayor was driving a vehicle with expired registration. The recording Keesling provided is from a meeting on Feb. 8.
