No. 24 Arkansas 75, New Hampshire 41
MIAMI, Fla. (AP) _ Stephanie Bloomer had 14 points to lead four players in double figures Wednesday and No. 24 Arkansas beat New Hampshire 75-41 in the consolation game of the Sun and Fun Tournament.
Arkansas (10-2) used a crushing defensive effort to hold the Wildcats (2-6) scoreless for several minutes.
A 15-0 run by Arkansas midway through the second half put the game away, 53-26, with 11:56 to play.
A 3-pointer from Kimberly Wilson and a three-point play by Stephanie Bloomer accented the run. Both players were coming off of ankle injuries.
Wilson finished with 12 points while Christy Smith had 11 and Kelly Johnson 10.
Arkansas’ biggest lead was 73-38 with 1:25 to play.
Arkansas led 30-21 at halftime after New Hampshire managed just two field goals in the closing eight minutes.
In the second half, the Wildcats shot 19 percent from the field and 27.6 percent for the game.
Arkansas forced 30 turnovers and had 16 steals.
Teya Eaton led New Hampshire with eight points.
