S.A. Chinese eatery on Broadway closes after 23 years
A Chinese restaurant that has done business on Broadway St. since 1995 has closed for business.
A note placed in the front door at King’s Palace, located across the street from an entrance to Brackenridge Park reads: “We are deeply grateful for your patronage during these past 23 years. It has been a privilege to serve you and share with you a part of our family — we are truly thankful to those who have made our establishment a warm and familiar place.”
The note from the owner did go on to disclose that the King’s Palace story is not over, and plans are in the works to resume business at a nearby location in the near future. Multiple restaurants in that area on Broadway have closed within the past year, including a Sonic Drive-In, Church’s Chicken and the Picante Grill.
King’s Palace was known for its massive menu, which included more than 90 dishes.
