Two arrested after search in Hartsville

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – A Hartsville man and a Florence woman have been arrested on drug and weapons charges after a search.

The search led to the seizure of two rifles, a sawed-off shotgun, a video surveillance system and more than $1,000, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

The search was conducted at a building in the 300 block of Westover Drive.

Investigators arrested Marion Wendell Brown, Jr., 33, of Hartsville, and Ashley Michelle Hubbard, 24, of Florence.

Brown is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, distribution of heroin, distribution of methamphetamine, disposal of meth waste, possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon and possession of a sawed-off shotgun. Hubbard is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, two counts of distribution of heroin and possession of a controlled substance.

Both were in the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center and are expected to appear before a Darlington County magistrate Thursday morning.
