Lady Tigers host Tohono O’Odham in back-to-back games
The Telesis volleyball team hosted Tohono O’Odham twice Wednesday, and fell to the Lady Eagles twice.
Tohono O’Odham swept the first game 25-15, 25-23, 25-15 and claimed the second game 25-12, 25-11, 25-9.
Telesis head coach Andrew Lundgren said he didn’t think having to play consecutive games took a toll on the girls.
“At this stage of the season, the girls are conditioned well enough that it’s not that big a deal,” Lundgren said. “Had we played two five setters, I’d be concerned, but at this stage of the season it’s not a bother.”
Lundgren said the team had a good practice on Tuesday, specializing on serve receives, which came into play in Wednesday’s games.
“ You could definitely see an upgrade,” Lundgren said. “Even though Tohono was a very good serving team, you could tell we upgraded our serve receive.”
The Lady Tigers host Anthem Prep Thursday in the final game of the season.
Telesis will conduct Senior Night celebrations before the game, which is scheduled at 6 p.m.
