Kishwaukee Family YMCA to host annual Healthy Kids Day
SYCAMORE – Area children can soon exercise their body and their mind at the Kishwaukee Family YMCA’s Annual Healthy Kids Day on Friday, April 26.
The free event runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the YMCA, 2500 Bethany Road in Sycamore. It is part of the Y’s National Initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families, and more than 1,500 YMCAs across the country will participate, according to a news release from the Kishwaukee Family YMCA.
This year’s Healthy Kids Day will feature interactive karate demonstrations, family roller skating, youth wellness center orientations, an open house for the YMCA preschool, a vendor fair, family open swim (from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.), balloon animals, face painting, raffles and more, according to the release.
Also part of the event, the Kishwaukee Family YMCA will offer a one-day only $0 joining feed, along with summer camp specials, to help promote health and wellness for area youth.
