Rock & Roll Hall of Fame unveils massive live music summertime schedule

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Past, present and future are coming together as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame finally gets deeper into the local live music scene.

More than 50 events at the museum will feature Elvis Presley’s first girlfriend, 2009 Rock Hall inductee Wanda Jackson; 2014 inductee John Oates; Sum 41 drummer Frank Zummo; Tri-C High School Rock Off winner Montage; and many others. And of course, the big highlight will be the two-day InCuya Music Festival on Malls B and C in downtown Cleveland in late August.

The summer of music will have more than 50 local artists performing in the Rock Hall’s “beer garden″ plaza at what’s being called “Rock Hall Live! Lunch by the Lake” from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays in June, July and August.

Nighttimes don’t get off scot-free, either, as the Rock Hall is slating “Rock Hall Live! Sun Sets″ from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays in July and August. Those nights also will feature live local music as well as craft beers, trivia contests and more.

Other events include a Blues, Bikes & BBQ festival in August, a “Taylgate” prior to Taylor Swift’s July concert at nearby FirstEnergy Stadium and of course the InCuya Festival, which boasts nearly 30 national and local performers.

Families get their own time with a Fam Jam from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, as well events like the “Michael Jackson Birthday Bash” from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9.

It all begins with the Catch Meaning Festival from 3 to 11 p.m. Sunday, May 27. The bill will inclue music from the Floozies, Ripe, the Vindys, Aaron Benjamin, Montage, Malcupnext, the Butterfly Experiment and the Young Souls Band of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland.
