4 arrests after woman’s skeletal remains found in trash can
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say four people have been arrested after a woman’s skeletal remains were found inside a trash can at a Southern California home.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday identified the woman as 47-year-old Judith Ornelas.
Officials say Ornelas had been dead for more than a year at the time the skeleton was discovered July 8 in Victorville. The trash can was partially filled with cement.
A sheriff’s statement says 31-year-old Jayson Weiss and 57-year-old Lori Rector will face murder charges. Forty-three-year-old Louis Chacon and 36-year-old Alphonso Lozano will be charged with accessory to murder. All are Victorville residents. It wasn’t immediately known if they have attorneys.
Detectives have determined all four suspects were friends of the victim.
