Alexa Angell Vacaro and Jason Todd Bartlett were married on Dec. 30, 2018, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Danbury.
The bride is the daughter of Augustus and Cynthia Vacaro, of Newtown. The groom is the son of Robin and Barbara Bartlett, of Norwood, N.J.
The mass was co-celebrated by Father Brendan Lally of the Society of Jesus, St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, Pa., and Msgr. Robert Weiss, of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Newtown. A reception followed at the Candlewood Inn in Brookfield.
The matron of honor was the bride’s sister Erica Gale. She was attended by Jennifer Harvey, Kelli Gardner Hollander, Christina Klepper, Kristen Sylvester and Ashley Vacaro, sister-in-law of the bride.
The best men were Brendan and Matthew Bartlett, brothers of the groom. The groomsmen were Gene Dirks, Christopher Gale, brother-in-law of the bride, C.J. Thouret, Craig Tiede and Anthony Vacaro, brother of the bride.
The bride received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Scranton and her master’s from Providence College. She is employed by the Greenwich Board of Education as a fifth grade teacher.
The groom received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Scranton, his master’s from Providence College and his doctorate in history from Temple University. He is employed by St. John’s University as the associate director of residence life. Following a honeymoon in Aruba, the couple now resides in Queens, N.Y.
