The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Bill Seger in Windber:
Aggr avated assault
A 30-year-old Central City man is facing the charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. According to a report filed April 26, Brent Edward Nicklow, of Bunker Hill Road, injured a woman by head-butting her after she unplugged a television at approximately 4 p.m. April 25. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing.Windber Borough police have charged a 32-year-old Windber man with aggravated assault, simple assault, strangulation and terroristic threats. In a report filed April 28, police said a woman reported that David Lee Hudak, of 8th Street, stabbed himself during an argument. He then stabbed the woman’s phone, choked her, punched her and kicked her, according to police. The woman said she was able to escape the residence in her vehicle and make a phone call at Sheetz. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Thef t of services
A 37-year-old Hooversville man has been charged with theft of services, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Hooversville Borough police said Bradley Fenna, of Water Street, replaced a borough electric meter with a Penelec electric meter April 4 after the borough shut off his utility service. This report was filed May 2. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. June 12.
A 36-year-old Windber man has been charged with forgery, access device fraud, false swearing, theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct. Windber Borough police said Calvin Joseph Spiker, of Main Street, took credit cards and money from an unlocked car along 15th Street at approximately 9:30 a.m. April 22. Spiker then went to various stores and businesses, using the stolen items to spend more than $100. This report was filed April 24. A preliminary hearing is set for 1:15 p.m. May 22.
Driv ing under the influence
Windber Borough police have charged a 33-year-old Johnstown woman with driving under the influence, failure to drive at a safe speed, careless driving and failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic. In a report filed May 6, police said Lindsey Patricia Hall, of Cox Street, was pulled over for speeding and erratic driving on Route 56 at approximately 3 a.m. May 5. She admitted to drinking, failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the hospital in Windber, where her blood alcohol content was found to be 0.176%. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. May 22.An 18-year-old Windber man has been charged with corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, driving under the influence, failure to give information and render aid, and careless driving. According to a Windber Borough police report filed May 5, Tyler Eugene Becker, of Graham Avenue, was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Main Street in Paint Borough at approximately 4:13 p.m. April 4. He admitted being the driver in this accident during questioning and told police that he and a juvenile male had smoked marijuana prior to the accident. Police found marijuana stems and seeds on the passenger side dash of the vehicle, and Becker also gave them a jar he had containing 4.5 ounces of marijuana. He tested positive for the substance. His preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. June 12.
