Tarkington Athletic Center gymnasts place at Dallas meet
On Feb. 17-18, a team of gymnasts from the Tarkington Athletic Center traveled just south of Dallas to compete in the Trevino’s 12th Annual Trampoline and Tumbling Invitational Meet. It was a two-day meet of just fewer than 500 kids.
TAC’s team coaches, and parents have dedicated a lot of time and effort to help these girls be the absolute best they can be. All this hard work paid off, especially for the Level 4 team, which won first place in not only double-mini but also in tumbling.
Level 3 gymnast Isabella Lamb received second place in tumbling. On Saturday evening, the youngest level 4 competitors walked in with confidence and won the following awards: Bree Garrett won first place in tumbling and third place in trampoline and Londyn Lillie received first place in tumbling and fourth overall in her age group on double-mini. Jacee Parrish won second place in tumbling, second place in trampoline, and third place in double-mini.
On Sunday, several girls competed and earned high scores. Blair Owens won the overall high score of Level 4 of all age groups on double-mini and third place in trampoline. Katie Peterson, also Level 4, won second place in double-mini. Mikenzy Whitmire and Alexa Owens are the Level 5 gymnasts from TAC. Alexa Owens received second place in tumbling and third in trampoline.
TAC has a few new Level 4 gymnasts on our team and their scores are as followed: Audrey Lanier received second in tumbling, Abbey Lanier won seonc in tumbling and third place in double-mini, Ava Goodman won fourth in double-mini, and Gracie Morrison received third in double-mini.
Coach Isadore Cavaretta said he is thankful for the coaches and especially the parents for their dedication to the team at TAC.
