UALR athletic director inks new contract through 2020

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas-Little Rock athletic director Chasse Conque has signed a new contract that runs through June 2020.

Conque took over as athletic director last year and hired two men’s basketball coaches during that period: Chris Beard, who stepped down after the Trojans’ NCAA Tournament appearance, and Wes Flanigan, who will lead the team this fall.

The team went 30-5 and scored the Trojans’ first NCAA Tournament win in 30 years by knocking off Purdue in double overtime in the first round.

UALR says overall department revenue increased by 30 percent in 2015-2016, and all athletic teams qualified for their respective Sun Belt Conference postseason tournaments.
