Cool but clear weekend on way
The Triangle is in for a pretty typical autumn weekend, with cool nights and mostly clear skies.
A cold front that moved across the state Friday evening means temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are about 10 degrees lower than they were to end October but just a touch lower than the early November average of 68.
Saturday will see a high of about 62 degrees in Raleigh under sunny skies.
“It will be sunny, cooler and less humid. It will be a beautiful start to the weekend and dry for your afternoon plans,” WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel said.
A few more clouds are possible for Sunday, but nothing to create precipitation, he said.
A slight chance for showers returns on Monday, and Tuesday – Election Day – could see some thunderstorms.
