Vermont Drug Task Forces arrests 59 in statewide sweep

WATERBURY, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Drug Task Force says 59 people were arrested during a state-wide drug sweep from one end of the state to the other.

The task force partnered with the Vermont Department of Health to provide information on treatment and recovery services to those who need them.

The operation was carried out over the last several weeks.

Among other charges, the investigations resulted in 53 individual charges of selling heroin and 43 individual charges of selling crack cocaine.

All the suspects were charged with state drug offenses. They were cited and release with future court dates.
