Is Your Job Your True Soul Path?

August 21, 2018 GMT

Dear Bonnie: I am having a hard time at work. I go there happy because I like the people, but at the end of the day, I go home crabby because of everything that happened during the day, and I feel drained. Could this be a sign? -- Amy

Dear Amy: Sometimes, when the universe, the divine or your guides are trying to get a message to you, the lesson may seem tough. In your case, the job you are performing may not be your soul path.

When we choose to come here this time to have an Earth experience, we choose a blueprint to follow. We always choose a job or career that will fulfill our destiny and open ourselves up for soul growth. If the job you are in now does not feel rewarding to you any longer, it may be time to ask yourself what would make you happy.

The universe always wants us to be enjoying our time here on Earth, so when it makes things difficult, it usually means it’s time to move forward. If your job was still satisfying to you, you wouldn’t have these feelings of “Is there any more than this?” It might be time to ask yourself, “What would bring me joy and still allow me to make the money I need to pay my bills?”

Dig in deep and ask yourself what you believe you are supposed to be doing for work. Where do your interests lie? What makes your heart fill with excitement when you think of doing this job all day long or even part time? Think about what comes natural to you. Are you good with children? Animals? Writing? Then think of how you could use your talents to bring in the money you need while at the same time fulfilling your soul purpose, which usually involves helping others in some way.

We are all born with different talents . Whether we choose to grow these talents and use them to make the world a better place is up to us. It comes with our “free will” that no one can take away. Our talents can come with challenges that we may need to overcome, for instance, the person who has a beautiful voice but is too scared to stand in front of an audience, or the person who feels everyone is better than him or her at their trade. When we overcome our hang-ups and insecurities, that’s when our true self can shine.

It might take some work if you lack self-confidence, but it sure will be worth it in the end to see the results of your hard work.

Going out of your comfort zone to try new things is not easy, and that’s when you want to ask for help. If it was meant to be and you’re putting in the work, it will happen.

Our jobs take up a lot of our time here on Earth, so make sure you are satisfied with what you are doing and not just playing it safe. Life is for having faith and taking chances.

I am not saying to quit your job and wait for a miracle, but I am saying start to take actions toward your goal. When you put your energy into making things happen, you will start to manifest what you truly desire. If you need to, start small by taking classes or finding a mentor. Life should be about enjoying our time here and at the same time helping others along the way.
