AVONDALE, La. (AP) — Louisiana police say a woman and a boy were arrested for shooting into a car, wounding an 18-year-old woman and a 2-month-old baby.

News outlets report 31-year-old Kyana Traylor and a 16-year-old boy were charged with aggravated battery Sunday.

The Jefferson Parish Capt. Jason Rivarde says Traylor got into a fight at a party with the 18-year-old, who tried to leave in a car with the infant and several others.

Rivarde says Traylor pointed a pistol at her and then handed the gun to the boy, who fired into the car.

The 18-year-old was shot in the shoulder and the baby was hit by debris. Both were hospitalized.

Traylor also was booked as a fugitive from another jurisdiction.
