Layoffs loom at Stamford-based Daymon

STAMFORD — Retailing and branding specialist Daymon Worldwide could lay off more than 50 local employees this month, according to the state Department of Labor.

An announcement on the labor department’s website lists Jan. 12 as the date of the job cuts at Daymon’s offices at 333 Ludlow St., in the city’s South End.

Messages left for Daymon and the labor department were not immediately returned.

On its website, Daymon describes itself as a solutions provider to retailers and brands, “having been at the forefront of the private brand industry since 1970.” The company’s services include strategy and insights, sourcing, packaging and branding design, in-store retail execution and consumer-experience marketing.
