Pirates minor-league report: Aug. 20, 2018

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 68-58) was idle. RHP Mitch Keller (2-2, 6.06 ERA) is scheduled to get the start on the mound for the Indians in Tuesday’s series opener against Columbus (Indians). Next: Tuesday vs. Columbus, 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 68-55) won 5-4 over Binghamton (Mets). The Curve took advantage of Binghamton’s two errors, resulting in two unearned runs, which proved to be the difference. C Arden Pabst (.209) went 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored, and SS Cole Tucker (.254) added a double, going 2 for 5. 1B Will Craig (.252) hit his team-high 20th home run with a two-run shot, leading the league with 96 RBIs. Starting RHP James Marvel (2-1, 2.25 ERA) got the win, pitching 6 1/3 innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out five. Next: Tuesday at Binghamton, 6:35 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 53-65) was idle. LHP Domingo Robles (0-1, 7.84 ERA) is scheduled to get the start on the mound for the Marauders in tomorrow’s series opener against Charlotte (Rays). Next: Tuesday vs. Charlotte, 6:30 p.m.

WEST VIRGINIA (Low-A, 63-57) won 9-0 over Charleston (Yankees). The Power went off for five runs in the fourth to break the game open. CF Travis Swaggerty (.182) hit his first home run at the Single-A level, going 2 for 5 in the leadoff spot with one RBI and two runs scored. C Deon Stafford (.264) went 2 for 4 with a double and a home run, and 1B Luke Mangieri (.333) had a double with his only hit, going 1 for 2 with two RBIs. Starting RHP Max Kranick (4-5, 3.96 ERA) pitched a gem, going six scoreless innings, giving up just three hits and striking out five in the win. Next: Tuesday vs. Charleston (Yankees), 7:05 p.m.

WEST VIRGINIA (Short Season-A, 24-37) lost 1-0 to Batavia (Marlins) in 10 innnings. SS Zack Kone (.198) went 1 for 4 with a double. Next: Tuesday vs. Batavia, 7:05 p.m.
