BARRE, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Agency of Transportation has launched a new tool that will help bus riders track the location of buses and their arrival times as well as search bus routes and stops.

The agency announced Tuesday that the Transit App, which can be downloaded to cellphones for free, shows the real-time bus location on any transit route operating in Vermont.

Barbara Donovan, the agency’s public transit program manager says, “Our riders deserve this predictability and real-time information.”

The agency says the app also has features for trip planning, navigation, notifications for bus service disruptions, and departure and stop reminders.
