Cecil Garrett “Chubbs” Campbell Jr., 33, of Kankakee, passed away Jan. 27, 2019.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, at Coney Funeral Home in Lakeland, Fla.

On Aug. 8, 1985, Cecil Garrett Campbell Jr. was born to proud parents, Cecil Sr. and Marguerite Campbell. His mother preceded him in death.

“Chubbs,” as he was affectionately known to everyone, was baptized at an early age at Christian Hope Baptist Church. In Kankakee, he received his elementary, middle and some high school education. In 2007, he moved from Kankakee, to Lakeland, Fla., and finished his high school education and graduated.

After graduation, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 10 years. When he was not working, he enjoyed playing cards and fishing with his grandmother.

On Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at the tender age of 33, this loving father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend was welcomed in heaven by his loving mother, Ms. Marguerite Barlow, and his aunt, Arnita Joyce.

Chubb’s love for his family was unique, precious and unconditional and will be forever remembered by his father, Cecil Garrett Campbell Sr. (Daphine); his children, Cecil Campbell III, Caylen Campbell, Carmello Campbell, Charmyne Campbell and Cianna Lopez; his sisters, Cassmine, Brandi and Diamond, all of Kankakee; and Dejanis, of Florida; his two brothers, Cassmere and Vincent, of Kankakee; his grandmothers, Lizzie Barlow, of Auburndale, Fla., and Helen Jackson, of Peoria; his grandfather, William Campbell, of Momence; his favorite aunt, Audrey (Patrick); his uncle, Christopher “Uncle B” Campbell; his cousin, “Chicky” Barlow; his special friends, Ginea and Monique; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
