Dickenson-led Stampeders defeat BC, earn Grey Cup berth

CALGARY, Alberta – The Calgary Stampeders, coached by former Montana quarterback Dave Dickenson, earned their second Grey Cup berth in three years with a 42-15 win over the BC Lions Sunday afternoon in the 2016 Western Final at McMahon Stadium.

Calgary will now take on the Ottawa Redblacks Nov. 27 in the 104th Grey Cup. The Redblacks earned a 35-23 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos, quarterbacked by former Kalispell Flathead player Mike Reilly, to seal their place in the Grey Cup.

Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell completed 21 of 28 passes for 365 yards and three touchdowns in the win. DaVaris Daniels and Marquay McDaniel both had over 100 yards receiving on the day.
