May 24, 2019

Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville received its fourth-consecutive “A” rating in The Leapfrog Group’s Spring 2019 Safety Score, demonstrating the hospital’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

The Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Score is a rating system designed to give consumers information they can use to make healthcare decisions. The Leapfrog Group assigns A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals based on their ability to prevent errors, injuries, accidents and infections.

“ Consistently high scores from Leapfrog reflect our commitment to providing our patients with the safe, quality care they deserve,” said Leslie Bingham, CEO of Valley Baptist-Brownsville. “As one of the Valley’s leading health providers, Valley Baptist-Brownsville strives to continually improve its performance in clinical care and patient satisfaction. It’s gratifying to see independent recognition of those efforts.”

In addition to earning its fourth-consecutive “A” rating from The Leapfrog Group, this is also Valley Baptist-Brownsville’s sixth “A” rating in the last seven reporting periods. Valley Baptist-Brownsville is also the only hospital in Brownsville to earn an “A” safety rating from the group.
