Frank ‘Harry’ Hansen
Frank “Harry” Hansen, 80, of Lady Lake, Fla., passed away Monday (Oct. 29, 2018).
He was born May 21, 1938, the son of Oscar and June (Brenneisen) Hansen, in Chebanse. Harry married his high school sweetheart, Verna Mae Hansen, July 21, 1956, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clifton. She preceded him in death April 26, 1995.
They have three children, Julie (Jeff) Lambert, of Clifton, Jeff (Barb) Hansen, of Lady Lake, and Tom (Kathleen) Hansen, of Orlando, Fla. Harry also is survived by two brothers and six sisters, Jack (Martha) Hansen, Merritt Hansen, Marilyn Yohnka, Carolyn Cox and Susan (David) Larsen, all of Chebanse, Bobbie (John) Gray, of Ashkum, Peggy (Bill) Mattox, of Clifton, and Darlene Beck, of Rockford; and one brother-in-law, Kenny Hansen, of Clifton. Harry will be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Christopher (Meghan) Lambert, Ryan Lambert (fiancé Jenna Silver), Kristy (Trenton) Rader, Kelly (Brian) Meents, Matthew Hansen, Christian Hansen (fiancé Rob Roche) and Patrick Hansen; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind Jason LeBeau, Jesse Serafini and Jenna Papineau.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Orval and Julia Hansen; brother, Richard Hansen; sister, Sandra Corlett; daughter-in-law, Karen Hansen; two sisters-in-law, Sally Hansen and Gwen Hansen; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Beck and John Cox.
He was a businessman and entrepreneur who started several local businesses including Hansen’s Variety in Chebanse, Hansen’s Window Coverings in Bradley and Hansen’s Variety Rentals throughout Illinois and Florida.
Harry loved traveling, golf (including a hole-in-one) and spending time with friends and family at The Villages in Florida. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Knapp Funeral Home, 415 N. Main St., Clifton. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 450 E. Third Ave., Clifton. The funeral service will be officiated by Father Doug Hauber. Burial will be in Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Chebanse.
