1993 – 25 years ago

• A downpour dumped 7 inches of rain on Adrian, causing major flood damage throughout the community. More than 100 Interstate 90 travelers had to seek safety in emergency shelters.

1943 – 75 years ago

• Freshly launched at Bayonne, N.J., is a newly constructed naval boat bearing the name of ‘Rochester and Olmsted.’ The city and county earned the honor by buying sufficient war bonds to pay for the boat. The plaque will be placed in the cabin. The command of the boat has been assigned to Ensign Richard Gagnon.

1918 – 100 years ago

• Dr. H. H. Witherstine has purchased a new Hupmobile (an automobile built from 1909 through 1939 by the Hupp Motor Co).
