State environmental police investigating fatal boat accident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut environmental officials have identified the man killed when a boat capsized in the Long Island Sound.
State Environmental Conservation Police say 64-year-old Eul Lee, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, died when the 17-foot fishing boat he was aboard overturned Sunday morning near the Stratford Shaols Light Station.
Coast Guard officers rescued three others from the boat and brought them to the Water Street Dock in Bridgeport. The men, who are all in their 60s, were taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment.
Lee was pulled from the water with help from marine units from Bridgeport and Fairfield. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The Environmental Conservation Police say they’re investigating the accident. Bridgeport Police, Suffolk County Police of New York and the Coast Guard are assisting.
