Judge Emmett to offer State of the County address in Kingwood
The annual State of the County Luncheon presented by Generation Park will be held at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, at Kingwood Country Club.
Harris County Judge Ed Emmett will speak at the event, which will share insight with community members and leaders about Harris County.
As member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1979 to 1987, Emmett was chairman of the Committee on Energy, a member of the Transportation Committee, and represented the state on numerous national committees relating to energy and transportation policy. He also received international recognition for his work in transportation and logistics policy.
Emmett has been Harris County judge since 2007. Emmett also serves as director of the Harris County’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, chairman of the Harris County Juvenile Board and chairman of the Conference of Urban Counties Policy Committee.
The deadline to register for the luncheon is Monday, Sep. 25. The cost is $30 for chamber members and $35 for guests. After the deadline, registration is subject to availability and will be $35 for chamber members and $40 for guests. To register, go to LakeHouston.org.
