Monday is voter registration deadline for Nov. 27 runoffs
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi residents are facing a voter registration deadline for next month’s runoff elections.
People have until 5 p.m. Monday to register. That will allow them to vote Nov. 27 if there are runoffs for a special U.S. Senate election, judicial races and two special elections for Mississippi House seats.
There was an earlier registration deadline for the Nov. 6 general election.
Four candidates are running in a special U.S. Senate election.
Eight people are running in state House District 31 in parts of Bolivar, Humphreys, Sunflower and Washington counties.
Four are running in state House District 85 in parts of Claiborne, Franklin, Jefferson and Warren counties.
If nobody wins those races or the multi-candidate judicial elections Nov. 6, the top two in each contest will advance to the runoff.
