Several key Saints players fall victim to injuries against Falcons

December 8, 2017 GMT

Saints quarterback Drew Brees and defensive end Cameron Jordan — two ironmen who rarely miss snaps, let alone games — told reporters this week that it’s not really possible for a player to be fully ready to play on a Thursday.

The biggest concerns: The lack of recovery time from the previous game and the potential of aggravating existing injuries.

In Thursday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, the injury bug hit the Saints hard. Five players left the game, including rookie sensation Alvin Kamara, who left on the first series with a concussion.

Among the players hurt:

Kamara (out with concussion)Offensive lineman Senio Kelemete (out with concussion)Linebacker A.J. Klein (questionable, groin injury)Defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson (questionable, ankle injury)Safety Kenny Vaccaro (questionable, groin injury)Defensive tackle David Onyemata (apparent leg injury)

Also, wide receivers Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn Jr. and running back Mark Ingram briefly left the game in the fourth quarter with injuries but returned.
