Man shot wife fatally, then himself, investigation reveals
FLORENCE, S.C. – A husband shot his estranged wife fatally and then fatally shot himself Monday in the parking lot of the McLeod Medical Plaza, according to the Florence Police Department.
The incident was under investigation.
“The investigation revealed that Ronald Edwards approached Nina Edwards while she was sitting in her vehicle at 800 East Cheves Street,” Lt. Mike Brandt wrote Wednesday in a news release. “Ronald Edwards shot Nina Edwards and then turned the gun on himself. No further information is available at this time.”
The incident happened at approximately 7:50 a.m.
Ronald Edwards, 48, and Nina Edwards, 48, were from Lake View, according to Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken.
“The family has asked for their privacy to be respected as they deal with this tragedy,” Brandt said in the release.
