S. Carolina barbershop to offer free back-to-school haircuts
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — It’s rare that people who are seeking haircuts can get that service on a Sunday.
But in Spartanburg, one business will be open on Sunday for its annual Back to School Free Haircut event.
Razor Sharp Barbershop owner Wanda Murphy says she and eight other barbers will be giving away free shape-ups or all over cuts for most of the day to children in kindergarten through 12th grade. WSPA-TV reports in addition to the free cuts, students will get food, school supplies, entertainment, and an all-around good time.
The event is open to the public and will go from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Murphy encourages people to arrive early since the event is likely to be packed.
Students return to school on Monday.
