Winona Public Library to offer classes on utilizing your tablet and smartphone for eBooks, audibooks and magazines

Did you receive a tablet or smartphone over the Holidays? Did you know that you can read eBooks, listen to audiobooks, and even read magazines on these wireless devices through your local public library for free? Learn how you can do all of these tasks on your tablet or phone through a series of classes the Winona Public Library is offering.

“Libby on Mobile Devices” is a class designed for all wireless devices except for the Kindle Fire. Libby is the new app by OverDrive that allows users to read or listen to books right from the comfort of their home with their library card. This class will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. in the library’s Bell Art Room.

“OverDrive on the Kindle Fire” is for the Kindle Fire user. OverDrive is the app used on this device to read or listen to books using your library card. The class is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 in the Library’s Bell Art room.

“RbDigital for Mobile Devices” is a class for all tablet/smartphone users. The RbDigital App allows users access to over 40 magazines using their library card from the comfort of their home. The class is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 in the Library’s Bell Art Room.

Participants must register for these classes at https://tinyurl.com/wpldownloadables or by calling the reference desk at 507-452-4860.

All participants must bring their mobile device and library card. Participants must also know their username and password for their device’s app store.
