MADISON — Country singers Brett Young and Chris Janson will headline the entertainment lineup at this year’s Madison County Fair and Rodeo.

The fair’s board of directors made the announcement Tuesday morning that Young will perform on Saturday, July 13, at 8:30 p.m., while Janson will take to the fairgrounds outdoor stage on Sunday, July 14, at 8:30 p.m.

The fair itself will run from Tuesday, July 9, through Saturday, July 14, and feature four nights of rodeo action, the two concerts, a carnival, 4-H and open-class shows and exhibits, numerous food vendors and other activities.

Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, May 4, as of 8 a.m. via etix.com. Persons with questions are encouraged to call the fairgrounds office at 454-2144.

Young has captured the hearts of fans everywhere through his honest lyrics and West Coast-meets-Southern sound that has been dubbed “Caliville” style. He was nominated as new artist of the year by the Country Music Association and released his debut album last year.

On that album, he wrote 11 of the 12 songs, including his current No. 1 single “Like I Loved You” and back-to-back No. 1 hits —“Sleep Without You” and “In Case You Didn’t Know.”

Janson — a singer and songwriter — has recorded two full-length albums titled “Buy Me a Boat” and “Everybody.” He has had eight singles on Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay, with three top ten hits in “Buy Me a Boat,” “Fix a Drink”, and “Drunk Girl.”

In addition to his own material, Janson has performed on albums by Holly Williams and Lee Brice, and has co-written singles for Tim McGraw, LoCash and Randy Houser.
